Sustainable Measures to End Child Labour

Saturday, 6 June, 2009

15:30 – 16:45

One in 6 children in the world is engaged in child labour. There are 69 million child labourers in Sub-Saharan Africa and 44 million in South Asia.  Child labour is often a response to poverty. How do we bring about systemic changes to make the elimination of child labour sustainable? How do we create improved social infrastructure that can take the place of the livelihood that child labour currently brings to many poor households?
